Lincoln Young
Lincoln Young began appraising real estate in 1996. He worked for three years at Grant Realty and Appraisal, which was owned and operated by June T. Grant. She was well experienced in real estate, having been an agent and appraiser in Western North Carolina for decades. Lincoln learned the art of accurately appraising real estate in Western North Carolina where often comps are few and several mountain ranges apart. After three years working for June, Lincoln made the difficult choice to leave the firm during a downturn in business.
Lincoln founded Appalachian Appraisal Company in 1999. The tutelage of June payed dividends and the company soon grew as rates lowered and the number of purchases and refi's increased. Soon Lincoln's brother Mitchell joined the firm and played an integral part in the growth and management of the company. During the early part of the decade through the refinance boom many other family members were brought on board in order to handle the additional volume. As time went on and the boom receded, these dedicated professionals retired or took jobs in other fields. Mitchell has remained and provides great experience and leadership.
Lincoln is a family man with two great boys and has diverse interests including singing with the Land of the Sky Chorus. He is a former board member of this great organization that raises money for local schools while entertaining with harmony and hilarity.
